Pressure
Take note of the recommended pressures for your tyres from your cars handbook and make sure the pressures in your tyres correspond. Check your tyres once a fortnight when the tyres are cold.

Tread Depth
For safety and legal reasons, make sure your tyres are above the legal tread depth limit of 1.5mm.

Tread Wear
The tread wear patterns on your tyre can indicate a problem with your car.

Sidewall Damage
Regularly check your tyre sidewalls for signs of damage. Look out for scuffs and cuts which may indicate external damage, bulges in the sidewall may indicate internal damage.

Take Care in the Wet
In wet conditions, stopping distances are increased and the lower the tread depth the greater the stopping distance.
